Movie Night: Thurs April 11th
Alright lads, this is the last movie night of the season.
We're gonna watch a half-hour documentary called "Chelsea Bridge Boys." It was shot in the 60's and it's about the original rockers who used to hang at the Ace Cafe. The rest of the evening will be spent figuring out our summer riding plans! Plus we'll figure out what merch we want to get printed and whatnot. I'll bring some examples of shit.
We're closing it out at PJ's crib. Be there at 7:30.

Movie Night: Thurs April 4th
Don't judge a book by its cover. Just cause it's called "The Loveless" and it has a leatherclad dude on the poster doesn't mean it's gay.
This is Willem DaFoe's first flick, I believe. It appears to be a total nod to the Wild One. That's fine. We can take a one week break from the far out choppers of 69 and go back to the teddy boys of the 50's. Something a bit different. And probably the only movie we'll watch all season with semi-decent production value.
So, with that, let's meet up at Clean Cut's house. He's cooking Mexican food w/ Josh's help.
Same time. See ya there...

Movie Night: Thurs March 21st
Alright, the next flick has been chosen. 1969's "Run Angel Run."
It stars Bill Smith, who was a veteran of the biker movie scene. He was featured in Chrome and Hot Leather, CC and Company, Run Angel Run, Angel's Die Hard, and Nam's Angels.
Now, he's a stoolie who's ratted out his gang and they want to kill him in return. He takes off with his old lady and a new movie is born...
This time we're heading over to the Pope's house. He's been awful busy with this whole thing in the Vatican but he still offered to host next week's movie night. Good lad.
I'll email everyone the address.
Clean Cut is taking the following movie night...
this has the Magician written all over it... |

Movie Night: Thurs February 21st
1971. Hippies, cults, bikers, mamas, and shit like that.
Next Thursday the 21st at Chief's house. I'll email everyone the address. You know the score.
I haven't seen the Peacekillers before, but it's streaming on Netflix so we'll check it out. Judging from the poster above with the Jesus/Manson dude surrounded by naked chicks it can't be all that bad, right?
See ya in a week...

Movie Night: Thurs February 7th
Next Thursday. At Bandit's. I'll email everyone the address. You know the drill. 7:30 doors. 8pm movie.
The next flick is one I've seen already but and I'm stoked for the rest of the crew to check it out. It's from 2011 and it's about MotoGP racing. Ewan McGregor does the narration. Here's a link to my initial review of it.
There's no 70's muff for the Magician. There's no bulging biceps for Clean Cut. Sorry guys, next time around. I'd rather we mixed it up from time to time. Y'know, a homo Brit flick here, a crotch-rocket film there. Variety. ;)

Movie Night: Thurs January 24th
Rad poster. Rad bike. |
This poster uses one of my favorite period typefaces, Cooper Black, so it gets my approval right from the get-go. |
Last time we got together we watched a freakin great biker flick from 1971 about some 'Nam heroes. Well, this time we're getting together to watch another biker flick from 1971 about a 'Nam hero. We'll see if this measures up...
I've heard The Hard Ride is a good one...
Everyone's been emailed Clean Cut's address. Same as usual: 7:30 get together. 8pm movie. See you in a week.

Isle of Man TT Documentary
Here's an hour-long documentary on the 2012 Isle of Man TT. I'm pretty sure Marie and I are gonna go in 2014 when we visit Scotland. I'll bring you back a t-shirt. ;)

i dig this new Bell helmet
If anyone wants to chip in $250... my birthday is in May.
If they have it at the International Bike Show next month I'm gonna try it on at least. Looks like a good option for touring...
Movie Night: Thurs January 10th
This time we're making it over to Chief's house for Chrome and Hot Leather.
This one's from 1971 and it's our first foray into the sub-genre of Vietnam biker flicks. It wasn't long before the film companies had to start creating hybrids to boost biker movie attendance. They started to dabble with Vietnam, blaxploitation, homosexuality, and horror. This one looks legit, though. Just look at that gang! Fucking awesome bikes.
Those with a keen eye will recognize Larry Bishop from HellRide and Marvin Gaye from...well, he's fucking Marvin Gaye and he rules. Anyway...
You know the drill. 7:30 order pizza. 8pm movie. I'll email everyone the address...
Let's ride!
