New LED fuel and battery gauge installed

Finally got around to installing the Kuryakyn LED gas and battery gauge that I bought last summer. Some basic wiring, but otherwise an easy install. It's a sleeker profile than the original, plus it has a battery gauge. And it's got purdy lights and shiny chrome ...

No Sleep Til Hammersmith

Finally got the mufflers in the mail after 2 months. Evidently Triumph changed how their pipes mount so BC had to create two sets of Sleepers. Depending on your VIN # you might get one set or another, even for the same model year of bike, I think. Anyway, it was well worth it b/c I'm super stoked on how they sound. It's like a brand new bike. And it seems to have increased the pick-up slightly due to a richer gas mixture. Rode it around Detroit last night... blip, blip, blip, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrgggggghhhhhh!!!!!

Secret Stash Spot

I just ordered the black Biltwell Stash Tube today. While some of your bikes have fucking toolkits and enough room to stash whatever small personal effects you wish to carry, my Bonnie has no room for anything. Not even insurance papers! I was lamenting this fact when Davin pointed me to these Biltwell Stash Tubes that affix to the top of the license plate bracket. Problem solved.

From the website:
Bill found the inspiration for this clean and classic document tube on the innerweb a couple years ago. He’d seen similar gizmos on old bikes from the ‘40’s and ‘50’s. Like our modern replica, those antique jewels provided a place to store your bike’s legal documents, personal effects and other contraband. Unlike those precious relics, the Biltwell registration tube doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Our timeless vessel will only set you back thirty bucks—not bad for something so well-built and practical.

The Biltwell registration tube is easy to use. Simply loosen one thumb screw, remove the end cap, slip your documents into the rugged plastic tube, replace the end cap and bolt the entire assembly to the license plate on your motorcycle. The Biltwell registration tube features the aforementioned high-impact plastic tube, machined aluminum end caps, stamped steel L-brackets and electroplated hardware. Two anodized colors are available: clear or black.

Motorcycle Statistics

Was reading my local newspaper and saw an article on motorcycle safety and found the stats interesting (last year in MI):

127 People died
Average rider killed was 43 years old
90% of which were males
40% of those fatalities involved a motorcyclist who did not have a motorcycle endorsement

Okay kind of doom and gloom and possibly boring so for your entertainment (not motorcycle related):

Screwed and Tattooed

Alright -
Oh, No -

It was six months ago -
But it seems like yesterday -
Went to a party -
Later on were gonna play -
Went driving for a while -
Checking out some girls -
When I saw this long haired one -
URGHHH -

The last thing I remember -
A fist packed with rings -
Some biker screaming -
We'll take you for a spin -
Hey, Action Brothers -
Now I'm going down -
Last night - for you -
Indie underground -

Well, I ain't got it good -
I got it bad in fact -
In fact I'm fucked up -
Goddamn Satans on my back -
Oh, I was tired of being -
Satans little whore -
And now I'm dead -
I got no Satans at my door -

But when I came to -
I counld'nt move my hands -
I felt strung out -
Waiting for romance -
But it hurt -
Hurt like hell -
Motorcycle ass fucking -
UHHHH - ARGGHHH -

Well, now I'm dressed again -
Got a fresh tattoo -
And it hurts so much -
When I think of you -
There won't be anything -
Between you and me -
I am El Satan's property -

Oh baby I tried to run -
Oh baby I tried to hide -
And now El Satans gonna take me for a ride -
Oh baby I tried to run -
Oh baby I tied to flee -
You know El Satan's gonna be the end of me -

Well, I ain't got it good -
I got it bad in fact -
In fact I'm fucked up -
Goddamn Satans on my back -
Oh, I was tired of being -
Satans little whore -
And now I'm dead -
I got no saviors at my door -

Try to hide -
Live to ride -

Ace Cafe coming to America!

The Ace Cafe is coming to America! 10 Locations in all. Check out the link for more info. I'll be going to the real one in London this fall on honeymoon. It's on the to-do list. I've also got a burn-up scheduled with my uncle's neighbor in Hinckley who used to be an engineer for Triumph! The factory is down the street and I'll be damned if I don't make sure to get in on one of the tours.
We'll have to hit up an Ace Cafe in the US once they open. I'll bet there's one in Chicago. They seem to have pretty regular ton-ups there.  Sweet.
